Apple Sauce

We were up to our knees in apples all week. Now twenty eight quarts of apple sauce later (not finished yet) we will rest until next week.
We dropped into bed last night and didn't move till nine hours later. I think we need a break.
When i was about eight or nine my grandmother would have me help with the canning cause my hand would fit in the bottom of the jars. I swore i would never can again.
I started thirty five years ago to can again. Now i just love it. When the jars are lined up on the shelf with all that color. I stand back and say, "It is good" ( I know i read that somewhere)
I believe God said that when He created each part of the world we live in
I know just a little of how He felt, each time i create something that He gives me the idea for.
How wonderful life is when we know Him.
Enjoy your day

Apple Pickin'

A windy, but beautiful Tuesday. Every other Tuesday four ladies get together for tea. Good time in my week, so look forward to that get together. A new person came to join us this Tuesday.I found out she wanted someone to come and pick her apples, the tree was loaded. I so wanting to can some apple sauce, i was definitely up for picking apples.
When we arrived ready to pick , the apple tree was at the bottom of a hill, we had to wade through big tall picker bushes, stickers as big as walnuts. We just couldn't get to the tree. We drove around to a neighbors property, drove the car as close to the barbed wire fence as possible.
I held the fence while my husband climbed between the wires. The tree was only about ten feet away.
I was praying the farmer that owned the field would not see us driving on his crop, (what ever it was.)
We did pick two bushels between the two of us. and got out before anyone spotted us.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to guess what is going on at my house today.
Sweet canning! Not bad for two senior citizens

Kids In Church

A little boy was overheard praying:
"Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it. I'm having a real good time like i am."

After the christening of his baby brother in church, Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong. Finally, the boy replied, "That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian Home, and i wanted to stay with you guys."

A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they were on the way to church service, "And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?" One bright little girl replied, "Because people are sleeping."

A wife invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to their six -year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?" "I wouldn't know what to say," the girl replied, "Just say what you hear Mommy say," the wife answered. Th daughter bowed her head and said, "Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"

Have a great day, blessings always\

The Ostrich

A man walks into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behing him. As he sits, the waitress comes over and asks for their orders.

The man says, "I'' have a hamburger, fries and a coke," and turns to the ostrich, "What's yours?"

A short time later the waitress returns with the order.
"That will be $6.40 please," and the man reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change for payment.

The next day, the man and the ostrich come again and the man says,
"I'll have a hamburger, fries and a coke," and the ostrich says, "I'll have the same."

Once again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with the exact change.

This becomes a routine until late one evening, the two enter again.

"The usual?" asks the waitress.
"No, this is Reiday night , so i will have a steak, baked potato and salad, " says the m an, "same for me," says the ostrich.

A short time later the waitress comes with the order and says, "That will be $12.62." Once again the man pulls exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table.

The waitress can't hold back her curiosity any longer. "Excuse me, sir, How do you manage to always come up with the exact change out of your pocket every time?"

"Well," says the man ,"several years ago I was cleaning the attic aand i found an old lamp. When i rubbed it a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes.

My first wishe was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my plcket and the right amount of money would always be there."

"That's brilliant!" says the waitress. "Most people would wish for a million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live!"

"That's right. Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there," says the man.

The waitress asks, "One other thing, sir, what's with the ostrich?"

The man sighs, paused, and answers.

"My second wish was for a tall chick with long legs who agrees with everything I say."

Oh Well

Boogie Through Life

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Pain and suffering is inevitable, but misery is optional.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, that's
why it's called : The Present.

A good exercise for the heart is to bend down and help another up.

Life is what you make it....kinda like Play-Doh.

The bubbling brook would lose its song if you removed the rocks.

Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open.

Everything is always o.k. in the end, if it's not, then it's not the end.

If all my friends jumped off a cliff, I wouldn't jump with them. I would be
at the bottom to catch them.

Here is a test to see if your mission on earth is complete: If you're alive,
it isn't.

" Never approach a bull from the front, a house from the rear, or a fool
from any direction".

No one goes his way alone: all that we send into the hearts of
others, comes back into our own.

So be happy ! Don't let anything burst your balloon! Boogie through life!

Have a real happy day today! Enjoy it because you got up this morning.

God Talk

Have you ever been just sitting there and all of a sudden you feel like doing something nice for someone you care for? THAT'S GOD talking to you through the Holy Spirit.
Have you ever been down and out and nobody seems to be around for you to talk to? THAT'S GOD wanting you to talk to Him.
Have you ever received something wonderful that you didn't even ask for, like money in the mail, a debt that had mysteriously been cleared, or a coupon to a department store where you had just seen something you needed, but couldn't afford? THAT'S GOD knowing the desires of your heart..
Have you ever been in a situation and you had no clue how it was going to get better, how the hurting would stop, how the pain would ease, but now you look back on it...THAT'S GOD passing us through tribulation to see a brighter day!
TRUST HIM

The Big Move

Three years ago we moved from a small town in the middle of Wisconsin. Each time we move it is "until death do we part" WRONG THINKING. We have moved so many times and each time we have sold all and hit the road. Each time i am so sorry for the things i have left behind, because i just had to buy those things again.
So here we are buying again things that we have had for many moves.
I didn't know those things owned me, i thought i owned them. It has been heard to let go, even after 3 years. I have to stop whining about things.
We did store some things that i just couldn't part with, but don't have a truck to go pick them up where they are stored. So life goes on.
No more sell all and hit the road. we store till we find out what is what.
Hopefully we stay put till Jesus comes, because we love this little town, we're in now. So content.

Wisdom

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate THEM,
A day to love them, but then, an entire life to forget them.

Take time to Live

Do not value the things you have in your life, but value WHO you have in your life!
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Stone

Two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey, they had an argument; and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand, today my best friend slapped me in the face.
They kept on walking, until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: 'today my best friend saved my life'
The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, 'After i hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?'
The friend replied 'when someone hurts us we should write it down in sand, where winds of forgiveness can erase it away, but, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.'
Learn to write your hurts the sand and to carve your benefits in stone.

Goat Cheese

Had a fantastic time yesterday making goat cheese. I went to a long time friend's house. They have three goats and some little ones, a few chickens also. Many apple trees some plum trees, and a fabulous garden. It was good to leave the beautiful area where we live near a large lake, and travel to the country.
It was a crisp day, the sun was shinning, but not warm, i had a chance to meet the very goats who so generously gave their milk so i could have the experience of making cheese. It was wonderful to see how clean and well cared for they were. Friendly also, not nosily ,very content.
The milk had a good clean taste, not strong at all. The milk boiled down in about an hour and the work began, gallons of whey set aside.
The finished product was so small for the amount of work that went into preparing, but i will do it again, the finished produce was well worth it.
Such a sense of accomplishment.

Unforgetable Birthday

On my very recent birthday my dear, sweet, wonderful, husband presented me with two dozen pink roses. I said "Thank you honey, but this is a casket spray" He replyed "No it is not" (he hasen't been to very many furnals) O.K. so i thought he knew something i didn't.
He laied down to take a nape and i put the flowers on his chest and took a picture (wish i knew how to put it on this blog)When we went to the cafatera to eat, a person at our table ask him "Who died," he was seen walking back with the flowers. Stan said "That was not a funeral flower, that is for my wifes birthday. She looked at me and i winked at her. We continued to finish our meal. My husband put his fork down and said "i'm going to break that guys arm who sold those flowers to me"
We will never forget that birthday. If i ever find out how to put that picture on this blog i will.

Grandmother

Quit a few years back when our last son was only four, i was required to go to Florida and care for my grandmother who was almost bedridden, She was living with my aunt who was up in her seventies and not able to care for all her needs. At that time the four year old son had to go with me. One day he was in grandma's bedroom when i was getting her out of bed to use the bathroom, this four year old was standing at the foot of the bed as she was getting up, his eyes got as big as baseballs, his comment was "Momma great grandma never got out of diapers?"
He trained real quick after that one.

Fantastic Husband

At 79 years of age my husband decided to stop working, everytime i say he is retired he says"No i'm refired". And so he is.
Because of our God given health through the years, We have been called to help out at a hospital in Tijiwna, Mexico. What an adventure. It is a regular hospital that services the nationals, but specializes in cancer patients. We go twice a year for two months. The hospital gives us room and board, when we fly into San Deigo, they pick us up.
We are required to pray with each patient and some paper work is connected with the responsibility. We have just begun to live. Such Joy in serving others and giving of yourself. God has given us a great life all the way around.

mother-in -law

i had a very special mother-in-law she loved us.We loved her.She was use to ruling the roust at her house .She worked till she was 80 taking care of others less fortunate than herself. She was only 4 ft. 9 in. tall but when she talked everyone listened
Mom came to live with when she quit work, she was to live with us six months and with her other son six months. She did like to eat out and always brought enough money to pay for all who ate with her.
One afternoon mom wanted to go to the mall to eat lunch. She came out of her room with her very nice blouse and her long johns on. "o.k. mom we'll go, just put your slacks on. she said "These are my slacks" "No mom those are your long johns" "THESE ARE MY SLACKS" was her reply. "O.k. get in the car......
As we walked through the mall she said "Why is everyone staring at me, oh it is no doubt my hat, no one wares hats around here"
When we arrived home i told my husband what i had done because you just don't argue with mother. He hit the roof " YOU DIDN'T TAKE MY MOTHER TO THE MALL IN HER UNDERWARE?"
"Yes i did."
we are still happily married.........
