Goat Cheese

Had a fantastic time yesterday making goat cheese. I went to a long time friend's house. They have three goats and some little ones, a few chickens also. Many apple trees some plum trees, and a fabulous garden. It was good to leave the beautiful area where we live near a large lake, and travel to the country.
It was a crisp day, the sun was shinning, but not warm, i had a chance to meet the very goats who so generously gave their milk so i could have the experience of making cheese. It was wonderful to see how clean and well cared for they were. Friendly also, not nosily ,very content.
The milk had a good clean taste, not strong at all. The milk boiled down in about an hour and the work began, gallons of whey set aside.
The finished product was so small for the amount of work that went into preparing, but i will do it again, the finished produce was well worth it.
Such a sense of accomplishment.

Hi Sandy,

I sure would love to experience making goat cheese! By the way, how about coming over at my house this thursday, so we can work on that picture. Give me a buzz if this is a good day for you.

Hey, check out my parents' blog at http://www.hermenrita.blogspot.com

Roger has a new blog. It's http://www.thenightiscoming.com . He made this for controversial issues. You should read the comments of some very liberal people there . Leave your comments too , if you wish to be heard :)
